BIOGRAPHY

Akihiro SAKIYA  崎谷 明弘 1988- Japan





AKIHIRO SAKIYA was born in Japan, in 16 October 1988.


He had studied with J. Watanabe, T. Torii, C. Soares and M. Araki, in Japan.
Then, he entered in Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and had studied with Jacques Rouvier.
After graduation first on the list from CNSM, he continues his study at the Tokyo University of the Arts, in a Master's and Doctor’s course with Prof. Akiyoshi Sako.


He won the many international competitions such as; 2nd Prize in the 16th A. M. A. Calabria International Piano Competition (the First Prize was not awarded) in 2006, 1st Prize in the 3rd Lyon International Piano Competition in 2011, the Jury Special Prize in the 3rd BNDES International Piano Competition of Rio de Janeiro in 2012 and 3rd Prize in the 59th F. Busoni International Piano Competition in 2013.


In 2014, he won the 1st prize in the 56th Jaén Prize International Piano competition with Spanish Music Prize and Audience Prize.
And also he was awarded the important music prizes in Japan, Matsukata Music Prize, Aoyama Music Prize and the Cultural Honorable Award of Hyogo.


He has performed many solo-recitals around the world including Sao Paulo Beethoven Festival and Festival de Nohant.
Besides, he has performed with many orchestra such as; Osaka Sinfoniker, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Japan Symphony, Japan Century Orchestra, Haydn Orchestra, Granada City Orchestra etc., with K. Kobayashi, C. Cruz, A. Fagen and P. Mann etc...


His performances were broadcasted on NHK TV and Radio in Japan, the ABC Radio in Australia, Italian National Television etc. And his first CD “Beethoven Complete Piano Sonatas vol. 1” was published in 2013 and 2nd CD by Naxos will be published in 2015.
